JBJ Building Services Limited is an independent building contractor operating throughout the country. We manage contracts and projects of all sizes and supply all trades required from start to finish, ensuring we deliver the highest standard of professionalism and finished product. The company also specializes in the design and manufacturing of windows, doors, staircases and other specialist bespoke furniture.
The company is owned and run by James Bell, a fully qualified joiner who is skilled in project management and who is also very experienced in the construction industry. The company started trading in 2007 trading as Jim Bell Joinery which is where our initials JBJ come from in our trading name today. Initially starting out in private work, we have since expanded into contract work and manufacturing. We are based in Leven, Fife, and operate a fully functional workshop where you are guaranteed the highest quality of craftsmanship.
Our success to date saw us awarded with PSYBT Regional Business Award Winner 2009, which is testament to our dedication to exceed the expectations of our customers.
JBJ Building Services Limited is a fully verified company with HMRC and the Construction Industry Scheme. We hold all relevant health and safety certificates and have appropriately trained employees and sub-contractors who all hold current CSCS cards. In addition, we operate with Employers Liability, Public Liability and Products Liability.
As a skilled main contractor, we provide end to end project management and will organize all materials and tradesmen, allowing our clients a single point of contact throughout the contract. At the outset, we will present a Risk Assessment and Method Statement to ensure that you are fully aware and comfortable with the work we intend to complete.
As a private contractor, we provide a skilled workforce to undertake a wide variety of projects, including extensions, conversions, renovations, restorations and new build projects.
As a verified sub-contractor, we full-fil contracts for various blue-chip companies, including:
Trac Engineering Ltd, Havelock Europa PLC, ESA McIntosh, British Thornton, Purvis Group, Lundin Homes, Ream Estate Agents, Novus Property Solutions which includes Premier Inn Hotels, Costa Coffee Shops and TGI Friday Restaurants.

A Brief History
Since establishment in 2007 we have strived to take our business from strength to strength. The first few months of trading were tough - just me and my van, trying to compete and make our mark on a rapidly increasing and aggressive market sector. However, my professionalism, determination and enthusiasm meant that it wasn’t too long before we got involved in contract and construction work. This meant big changes for me as an individual, having become accustom to working on my own to suddenly becoming an employer, responsible for a large team of approximately 20 - 30 tradesmen.
It was essential that I ensured my team were adequately qualified and possessed the right attitude to provide consistent and effective outputs to meet my own high standards. My constant hard work has won us many opportunities over the past few years. We are now tendering for contracts, and carrying out projects involved in PFI work for Schools / Universities and Hospitals. We are also carrying out maintenance contracts for Hotels, Restaurants and Estate Agents throughout Scotland. Adding to this we have continued to grow our share of the local private market at a steady rate where we specialize in Extensions, Renovations, Restorations and Conversions. Due to the size of the contracts we are now involved in this encouraged us in development to become involved in the manufacturing of bespoke furniture and fittings, for example, Windows, Doors, and Staircases etc. We proceeded to open a fully functional workshop where you are guaranteed the highest quality of craftsmanship. Having won previous awards as an apprentice for my excellent standard of finishing joinery, this is truly where my passion lies so I have every faith that we can make it as successful as my other sub-divisions.
Our greatest achievement so far was being awarded PSYBT Regional Business Awards Winner 2009 and then going on to represent the Fife area in the National PSYBT Business Awards where we became the first construction company in the competitions history to make the final five for which we received the 2009 Runner Up Award only to be beaten in the final two by a 5 piece Celtic Boy Band who became the overall winners, what a disappointing but proud moment.
